My Skincare & Makeup Routine

So many of you have asked what my skincare routine is weekly, so below are the items I use on a daily basis for my skincare and make-up routine.

Let’s get started, shall we?!

I am serious about taking good care of my skin and weekly, I get asked what my skincare routine looks like.

If you want a personalized skincare recommendation, fill out my skincare questionnaire, and I’ll email you back, or you can email at angie@angiebloom.com. I know the Beautycounter skincare and makeup lines best, but if I think products from other brands will work well for you, I’ll share those too - I like to keep it real here over at Angiebloom.com and if there are other products that would be a better fit for you, you better believe I will share that with you!.

My Most Favorite Beautycounter Products To Date!

  1. Makeup

My simplified daily routine – It’s literally less than 5 minutes, I promise!

Skin Twin Foundation. I wear 350 pretty much the entire year unless I get a ton of sun in the summer which I don’t love to do anymore. (This shade chart is handy also this video is helpful to learn more about Skin Twin.) I use this beauty blender to apply, this also saves on product, you can see how to use here. If you’d like a sheerer coverage for foundation application, I would use this foundation brush here. I do prefer the Beauty Blender, which is to date my favorite way to blend and apply makeup - this is a fun contour video I demoed using the beauty blender for most of my application!

  • Concealer - to date I am still using Beautycounter which is leftover from prior launch, but it is not available on the website currently but is coming back to stock soon!

  • Cream Blush – I like chai, cider, rosebud and truffle. (review to come soon!)

  • Brow Gel – I use the color light and love it. I do have my eyebrows micro-bladed and this is great to fill in the sparse spots and add some depth and color to help hold my hairs in place.

  • Brow Pencil - This is great to help shape your brows if you need further fill in and/or depth to your brows. I use the color light here too.

  • Mascara – I use this Urban Decay Primer, followed by Beautycounter Mascara. Our mascara was 5 years in the making and to be honest I didn’t love our first mascara when I joined years ago as a Beautycounter Consultant, but this one I can stand behind! I absolutely love it! It is water-resistant, but not fully waterproof.

  • Lipstick – I don’t typically wear the deeper shades, but you can see one of my favorites in this post.

  • Lip Gloss - my favorite shades for winter are: Bare Shimmer, Amber Shimmer, Spice, Clove and Rosewood. Spring Summer: Bare Shimmer, Peony, Dahlia, Magnolia Shimmer.

Sheer Genius Conditioning Lipstick– Terra or Lily are great natural every day colors.

NOTES:

  • This video is showing how I apply my makeup.

  • If you’re looking to overhaul your makeup, the Flawless in Five set has everything you need for a simple, polished look, and you save 20% off by buying it as a set.

  • If you want more sheer coverage that includes SPF 20, go for Dew Skin tinted moisturizer rather than Skin Twin. I wear shade 2 or 3 – See application here. (I use this when I want SPF and also a sheer coverage to even out my skin tone.)

Makeup I use when I’m doing a little more!

  • Mattifying Powder - this is so amazing to help keep your makeup from running. It’s awesome for also setting make-up, blending eyeshadow. (Tutorial coming soon using Beautycounter’s mattifying powder, to get an idea of how to apply!)

  • Lid Glow Cream Shadows - See post here to watch the easiest application!

  • Eyeliner - I use black and love how soft our eyeliner is!

  • Girls’ Night Lipstick - my favorite red also love Garden Party Bright Pink (see video here)

Weekly

  • Reflect Effect AHA Mask – I use this 1-2x a week. The first time I used this, I could not get over how GOOD my skin looked and felt instantly!

  • Charcoal Mask – I try to use this once a week, but let’s be real, sometimes it’s more like 2x per month. It helps so much with acne and really works as a roto rooter to clear my pores and gently exfoliate my skin.

P.S. Any product you use on a regular basis should be cleaned often (psst: your beauty cabinet will look and feel much nicer when you’re finished, too). So, grab the soap, a little water, and get cleansing. As you clean, be sure to check each period-after-opening (PAO) symbol while you’re at it. Beautycounter products specify the number of months that you can expect them to be safe for use. Look for a tiny period-after-opening (PAO) symbol of an open lid pot with a note like “12M”, which means the product’s lifespan is 12 months from the time you open it if it’s been stored and used properly. You may be due to replace some of your old #betterbeauty—which will make it, well, even better.
