Healthy Citrus Red Wine Vinaigrette

This easy Red Wine Vinaigrette Dressing recipe takes only 5 minutes to prepare with basic pantry ingredients, and it’s super easy! The homemade citrus vinaigrette packs a punch and adds so much flavor with the freshly squeezed orange juice and adds just the right balance and flavor to any salad. It also perfectly compliments veggies, like tomatoes, bell peppers, and cucumbers. It's really the BEST Red Wine Vinegar Dressing you will find in my humble option.

I love a light and flavorful salad dressing! I’ve really been enjoying making my own homemade salad dressings, especially since I know exactly what is in it. Furthermore, I’m not a fan of store bought dressings, only because I feel they lack flavor and are typically full of other ingredients we don’t need. I promise, once you get the hang of it, it really doesn't take much time and tastes so incredible. Overall, making your own dressing is healthier because you can control what you put in them. The amazing fresh flavors can't compare to anything else you'll get.

RED WINE VINAIGRETTE DRESSING RECIPE

I've made my favorite Maple Dijon Balsamic Dressing and my Homemade Caesar Salad Dressing for years and love it to this day, … but today I thought I'd add another basic one to the arsenal.... my Healthy Citrus Red Wine Vinaigrette Dressing recipe!

This Citrus Red Wine Vinegar Dressing is really so good because is features red wine vinegar, which has a punchier, more vibrant grape flavor than other vinegar, so it packs a bit of a punch to your taste buds! That makes this salad dressing the perfect balance to my favorite salad. It could also pair really well with Greek, or even Italian cuisine.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS CITRUS RED WINE VINEGAR DRESSING

  • It only uses 4-5 ingredients

  • The red wine vinegar and orange really shine, and it brings a great balance to your salads

  • It adds bright and flavorful mouthfuls without adding any additional calories, fat or hidden ingredients.

  • You can make a batch of the dressing early in the week and enjoy it for days.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • 2 oranges, squeezed or juiced

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar

  • 1 Tbs honey

Directions:

  1. Put all ingredients in a jar and mix well. Make sure to squeeze 2 fresh oranges for the best flavor, if you are in a pinch you could use orange juice, but I like fresh!

  2. Store dressing in the fridge, and shake well before using it.

  3. Serve with your favorite salads or wraps.

TIPS

It just needs a nice shake before serving because the oil and vinegar do separate. It's fun to keep it in a mason jar in the fridge, so you can shake it easily. If you don't have any mason jars, pick some up here!

HOW LONG DOES THE CITRUS RED WINE VINEGAR DRESSING LAST?

Store the dressing in a jar with a tight lid in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. The oil and vinegar will separate, so make sure to shake the dressing well before using it on a salad.

IS RED WINE VINAIGRETTE GOOD FOR YOU?

YES! Red wine vinegar is shown to improve your heart health and is filled with antioxidants, making this a great healthy salad dressing choice. It may also lower blood sugar levels. It’s the acetic acid in red wine vinegar and other vinegar have been shown to help lower blood sugar levels. Not only that, but it’s also incredibly versatile.
