Healthy Cookie Dough

Faux Cookie Dough (Friends, You’ll Never Guess What The Main Ingredient Is…)

Ta-da! The secret ingredient to making a healthy cookie dough is chickpeas! This healthy cookie dough tastes similar to the real thing but is made with nutrient-dense ingredients. They are made without raw eggs, so it makes it safer to eat out of the bowl! It’s an incredible sweet treat that contains fiber and heart-healthy fat as a bonus!

I have one rule in my life: eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring

To be honest, I’ve been a big skeptic to put beans into desserts. If I have dessert, I typically want the real thing. BUT! This healthified dessert is definitely worth the can of beans!

I will make this for a mid-afternoon or after-dinner snack. Just sweet enough, but also super satisfying because of the fiber and healthy fats.

Chickpea Cookie Dough Ingredients

Here are the seven ingredients you’ll need to make them:

Chickpeas. These glorious beans are the base of the recipe that makes up most of the volume.

Vanilla Extract. This adds a sweet vanilla flavor.

Peanut butter. I like to use a peanut butter with peanuts and salt only - if you use one with sugar in it, make sure to adjust the maple syrup.

Maple syrup. I like using this as it creates a fabulous consistency to help the dough blend well.

Oatmeal. This helps bind everything together.

Sea salt to bring out the flavor.

Chocolate chips. I use milk chocolate which is a little higher in sugar, but I love the flavor!

This recipe is seriously so easy, and it takes LITERALLY 5–10 minutes to make start to finish. Yes, really.
